I've got an android phone and the only limit I've got is that it doesn't play animated gifs. No big deal.

 

we had a major work station reshuffling earlier today.. and i was transferred to a different seat.. i'm now seated almost in the middle of floor and near our manager's cubicle. so now i guess lurking while at work is not an option. guess i should just bring a book to past the time... and clearly will need to wait to get home to browse xnxx..

 

I would take that as a sign that they wanted to watch me more closely.

Your there to work, not fuck around.

You were moved because they know what you are doing, and they are watching you like a hawk. You're now being watched through the cameras, your online activities tracked, and your station monitored.

Too many goddamn people are always on their damn phones, texting, browsing, talking, when they are on the clock and supposed to be doing their fucking job.

I swear to god wtf has happened to the world these days...

I'm a little surprised they have not fired you already. Companies have tools to know what your accessing.

 

Don't log on from work. Your job pays your bills, not XNXX. Even logging on during braks could get you into trouble because it is a porn site.

starting on Monday no more logging on to unrelated websites at the work place. plus i forgot to mention to you guys that whenever i access non work related sites, i turned like a crazy man.. paranoid as ever.. always looking around to see if someone is going towards my station...

 

My workplace doesn't care if I look at an occasional website that is non-work related, as long as I don't spend too much time doing that. I know a guy that would spend 2-3 hours a day on a particular website that got fired.

 

They could just be waiting for an air-tight case. I'm sure they're not far off.

You're ratting on yourself with that kind of behaviour. May as well get a neon sign that says "I'm looking at porn!"

Being the Lead System Admin for the company I work for I have full access and can see what others access. I often do not block certain sites. (this site is unblocked) I've found long ago people find ways around things (ie smartphones or portable wifi on their laptops). So rather restrict, we observe the ratio of work/play. If an individual has a poor work/play ratio and they are neglecting their overall duties they get written up. As it was explained to me upon hire we are to monitor what sites are being accessed. If it is determined the site is unsafe THEN we block it. If an individual is written up then we limit access to that individual. Over the years org wide studies have shown that this has improved morale and work output. Honestly, I do not know if it is these type sites that have helped or just less restriction in general. What I do know is NO ONE has been written up in the past 2 years and we monitor each click of what each individual does. Just sayin....

I've seen them walk senior managers and executives out the door at IBM for this kind of usage on the job. XnXX is not workplace friendly. Grow up, do your work and browse the sites off the work premises -- period. Anything else is stupidity. You would have to be some kind of idiot trying to rationalize a way to manage this need of yours -- so strong is your need for releif from sress that you are compelled to transgress one of the most black and white workplace rules there are. No inappopriate web browsing, or offensive content in the workplace -- period.

btw. I would love to see them catch you, and have their astonishment compounded by the connotations in your username.

 

With lax policies like this, if your workplace productivity suffers, you would only have yourself to blame. Give them an inch they will take a yard.

At IBM they have analysts who's only job is to monitor each and every website visited by each and every member of the network. Agreements are signed by all users. One strike and you are out. Inappropriate browsing is not only an impediment to productivity it also presents risks of system-wide viral infection, and opens up the company to potential lawsuits filed by coworkers who may find offense at what they see on their coworkers screens. Allowing one guy to go to XnXX and another to go to 4Chan is just asking for trouble.

 

This sounds like a sound policy to me.

You treat people like adults, then they'll respond to suit.
If overall productivity isn't suffering, and deadlines are being met, then it's working.

 

I wont be to blame at all. Its not my policy. I am simply following their guidelines. They salary is excellent, their industry is stable and growing. So until they are destroyed by such a lawsuit I will ride the train while it lasts. By the way, I see your point. I always have. I just do my job as outlined. Call me a yes man or what not, but I have house and car notes to pay. lol

 

Now that sounds like a waste of resources. Having employees spying on other employees.

Productivity suffers if morale is low.

 

I have print-screened internet history and used it in negative reviews at my company.

I'm not a dick about getting personal stuff done, just have your work done first. But when someone on my dime is behind on everything and I check and they are logging 5.5-7 hours on an 8 hour day fucking around on FaceBook, buying basketball tickets, and shoe shopping, I get twitchy.

Personal phones are the same way, unless productive work is landing in my inbox from Mr/Mrs Cellphonejockey I'm going to keep an eye on it.

I'm going to be unhappy if I walk in and someone has sex stuff on a company machine. That is a pretty steep road to orbital-pissed-off level for me.

But here I am on my home machine, and have no issue with it. . .

 

Actually it's quite a relief to most having the rules laid out so plainly. No mucking about. No sneak peeks. Just dont do it and you will be fine.
